The White Queen is a stunningly rich tale of love and loss, seduction and deception, betrayal and murder, vibrantly woven through the stories of three different yet equally driven women, in their quest for power as they manipulate behind the scenes of history – Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort and Anne Neville. The year is 1464 and England has been at war for nine years battling over who is the rightful King of England – it is a war between two sides of the same family, The House of York and The House of Lancaster.

“The White Queen’’ is a British drama television series and comprises ten episodes. The series are a screen version of the works written by a novelist, Philippa Gregory, namely, ‘’Red Queen’’, ‘’The White Queen’’ and ‘’The Kingmaker’s Daughter’’. The plot begins with the moment when the War of Roses has been lasting for nine years. In 1464 two Houses of Lancaster of York waged a fierce battle, which was aimed the right to succeed to the throne. Central part of the story describes three women, who, although do not combat publicly, are still very inventive, when it goes about the ways of achieving the goal. Men struggle for the Crown, while women manipulate men skillfully in order to come to power. Elizabeth Woodville, whose husband was a victim of the war, by the way, he supported Lancaster, makes a new King, Edward IV of England, fall in love with her, using her youth and beauty. Having done this, she becomes the Queen to protect their children. Margaret Beaufort, a widow of Lancaster, hates the York’s so much that she weaves intrigues and uses all possible methods to put his son on the throne. The youngest daughter of the ‘’kingmaker’’ is Anne Neville, whose life has the taste of blood and deception, it turns up that she is between two houses, but all in all, Anne gets deserved happiness and power of the Queen by means of Richard, Duke of Gloucester.
