The Trial of Christine Keeler season 1
The series is dedicated to the famous political-espionage “Profumo case”, which thundered in Britain in the 60s. It was the height of the Cold War and ultimately contributed to the downfall of Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and his government. There were also huge personal consequences for everyone who was in the scandal. John Profumo was a Minister of War and had sexual relations with dancer and model Christine Keeler. At the same time, Christine had an intimate relationship with Yevgeny Ivanov, an assistant naval attache to the USSR Embassy in Great Britain. Both men met Keeler thanks to Stephen Ward, a fashionable osteopathic doctor, an artist who had access to the highest circles of the British establishment.
