The outward perfection of a family-run flower business hides a dark side rife with dysfunctional secrets in this darkly humorous comedy series.
The plot of The House of Flowers season 1 revolves around a family belonging to an upper class of Mexican society. Parents made their wealth by a trade of flowers, and their children can afford to lead a secular way of life.But the relationship between wife and husband is not as passionate as before after years of marriage. They are more concerned about business and upbringing of offspring. Nevertheless they are trying to maintain the image of an ideal kin. However, everything changes when paramour of the head of family suddenly commits suicide during their holiday. His love affair lasted for many years. Although she was a close associate, neither his wife nor children suspected the man of treason. But, most interestingly, he became a father of several more babies outside of marriage. Underage offsprings appear in father’s house after the death of thir mother. As a result he decides to introduce them into his official wife and successors, thereby turning their life into complete chaos in upcoming episodes. It soon becomes clear that not only the father had secrets. Their eldest daughter suspects the husband of treason, and their son hides the attraction to a man who is much older than him.
