The action of the TV series begins in 52 BC. e., when Julius Caesar conquers Gaul after eight years of war and preparing to return to Rome. Caesar`s niece Atia anxiously awaits his return, the patricians in despair - they fear that the return of Caesar upset the status quo and life which they built, will be undermined. In the Senate, party leaders patricians persuaded an old friend of Caesar, Quintus Pompey, that Caesar is a threat to the prosperity of Rome. At this time, the two hapless legioners, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, plotting adventure, which, if successful, will greatly enhance their welfare. Mark Antony agrees with Brutus that Caesar, not to declare a tyrant, and then tricked seizes power, driving Brutus and Cassius from Rome. Octavian - Caesar`s sole heir - wants to get their money. Octavian lays down it`s property to pay the money to the Roman people, as stated in the will of Caesar. Because of this, they quarrel with Antony. Octavian, collecting an army leaves. From this point on they start a war with Marc Antony. Lucius Vorenus curses his children and leaves the house. Titus Pullo learns of the Caesar`s death and returns to Rome.Read more »
