Mindhunter season 1 is a screen version of the eponymous documentary book by the former FBI agent John Douglas. The most sensational and intricate cases described in the book are taken as the basis for the TV series. The main characters of the TV show are young FBI agents. Operatives Bill Tench and Holden Ford, who investigate cases involving serial killings. Psychologist Wendy, who specializes in researching the psyche of maniacs. And also the head of the special agents training department of the FBI Shepard. Elite special agents are called the mindhunters not in vain. They hunt for the most sophisticated maniacs and rapists. These are not ordinary domestic killers. First the mindhunter must penetrate into the mind of such a beast to catch him. But, such work affects the pursuers themselves.
