Bel, after spending the past 18 years as a home-maker, steps in to save the family business in a failing family run beauty salon in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. She will have to contend with the salon’s high-maintenance staff – her family. Family feuds and bitter rivalries, professional and personal, escalate in the salon amongst the Botox, fillers and face-lifts.
Family business can, as a caricature, highlight and strengthen several important processes in the family: in a positive way, and in a negative way. A family business can be a very cool overall project for a family. Common cause, common goals – this is a very important component in strong family relationships. Any relationship is built and developed better, more effectively, when there is some common goal. While in ordinary relations there are often periods when there is nothing other than traditional formalities.
